Holiday Program Audience Participation!

For the first time ever, we are going to have audience participation for our final song this year!  The students are very excited to share this experience with you, however, in order to be ready to join in on the fun, we are asking families to download this free jingle bell playing app PRIOR to the holiday program on their phones if you will be attending the 3rd-5th grade performance.  THANKS!!

New Classroom Ipods!

Ipods

March 5th, 2012

We just received 6 Ipods (1st generation) to use in our classroom.  The following, mostly free, apps have been downloaded for your child to use in our classroom:  Mad Libs, Amazing Coin, Absolute Board, Hungry Monster, Cash Cow Lite, Chalk, Chicktionary300, Chicktionary  Lite, ClockMaster, Coin Math, Coins, Dictation, Find Sums, Fry Words, Glow Draw, Grade 1 Math, Grade 2 Math, Grade 3 Math, iBooks, Idea Sketch, Invaders, Kids Math, Letter…, Math Dr…, Number Line, Pizza 1, Quick Voice, Rocket, Sight Words, Sight Words 2, Sock Puppets, Spelling Magic 1, Spelling Magic 2, Story Kit, and Word Abacus.
Would you please email and let me know if your child already has an Ipod… and the experience level they are currently at with an Ipod.  (never used one before, sometimes uses a family member’s Ipod, has an Ipod (please  let me know which kind of Ipod and what its used for).  If your child does have an Ipod to use at home, please consider adding these apps.
I want to begin using the Ipods on Monday…. we will practice all of these apps and then write reviews (which perfectly fits in with our persuasive writing unit)…. deciding which apps are the most valuable.  If you are able, will you please have your child bring in a pair of cheap ear buds to keep at school(I heard you can get a pair at Keegstras for $1… but did not call and confirm that information)?  There are several apps that your child will benefit more from if they have ear buds.  If you can, will you also figure out a way to put your child’s name on the ear buds?  Also, if you have extra skins (or the protective cases) for the Ipod, sitting in a drawer, will you please consider donating them to my classroom?
Thank you so much!
